Development of CSR to our Business Partners

We are trying to establish relationships of mutual trust with one another based on fair and equal trading; we will continue to ensure our co-existence and co-prosperity and leverage our service levels as a partner through our various CSR activities.

Workshops together with Suppliers and the Purchasing Code of Conduct

Up until FY2011, in order to deepen understanding of CSR within and outside a company, we held workshops on the requirements of CSR for the relevant staff, workshops on CSR guidelines for business partners, and workshops on self-assessments at our domestic business sites in aim to stress the importance of CSR activities and to grasp the level of understanding. As part of these activities, from FY2012 we started holding workshops for business partners that were having slight issues with the actual implementation of measures. During the initial year we conducted workshops on social contribution and initiates at business partners through Subcontractors Act and Great East Japan Earthquake support activities, while during FY2013 we held workshops on human rights (harassment) and information management and security while exchanging recent case studies. Measures in response to these risks were implemented for all business locations as we worked together to improve our CSR activities by learning together with business partners. A CSR activity award system was also started at the same time from FY 2013, and in the initial year CSR Environmental Activity Excellence Awards were given to three business partners and CSR Activity Contribution Awards were given to four business partners in recognition of their excellence in the activities conducted.
During FY2014, the second self-assessment and third workshop for business partners are scheduled, along with CSR activities at overseas business locations, including explanations of the revisions to global procurement standards in a manner easy to understand for overseas employees.
